I bring a warm and conversational style to my sessions, ensuring that humour is woven in where appropriate to help put clients at ease. I understand that discussions about sexuality and intimacy can sometimes feel awkward, and I strive to create a space where openness is encouraged and discomfort is gently acknowledged.
While society appears to have progressed in many ways over recent decades, the underlying internal and cultural challenges that can negatively impact sexual wellbeing often remain unchanged. At the heart of my practice is a systemic and feminist approach, which shapes my perspective and guides my work. I employ a blend of narrative, solution-focused, and interpersonal techniques, drawing upon these methodologies to support clients
as they address and reshape the stories and patterns that influence their sexual wellbeing.

My academic journey began in the early 1990s when I completed both a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). Throughout these degrees, I explored themes relating to bodies and sexuality, laying the foundation for my later professional focus on sexual wellbeing. Following my studies, I gained extensive experience working in substance use and mental health services. Over the past decade and a half, my work has centred around supporting individuals facing complex psychosocial and health challenges within the region. I continue to have a generalist Social Work role at a rural health service where I am part of a team and the community.
Upon reaching midlife, I realised the need for change—a midlife awakening I guess. After turning 50, I decided to reconnect with my original academic interests, bringing with me a wealth of valuable life and professional experience. In 2022, I completed a Graduate Diploma in Sexology at Curtin University, which started to shape my approach. Building on this, I graduated with a Master’s degree, majoring in psychosexual therapy from Sydney University, in June 2025.
This period of advanced study has been both intense and enjoyable, and my commitment to ongoing professional development remains strong. I continue to learn through various channels, including the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), the Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS), and the Relational Life Institute. Currently, I am working towards accreditation with the Society of Australian Sexologists and am a registered member of both SAS and AASW. In addition, I regularly access supervision to ensure that my practice remains ethical and accountable.
